Southern Caramel Cake

*INGREDIENTS

°1 cup of butter.

°2 cups of sugar.

°4 eggs.

°3 cups self-rising flour.

°1 cup buttermilk.

°2 teaspoons of vanilla.

°Southern Caramel Frosting Recipe (double the recipe).

*INSTRUCTIONS

In a bowl, cream the butter and add the sugar and beat for about 8 minutes.

Add the eggs one at a time then add the flour, alternating with the buttermilk.

Adding vanilla and beat to well blended.

Prepare 3 9-inch cake pans and pour the batter evenly into the pans.

In a preheated oven at 350° bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Transfer cakes to cooling racks.

Prepare Southern Caramel Frosting according to package directions, then frost cakes once cooled.
